IT Technician (Part-Time)

Join the team! SARCOA is looking to hire a part-time IT Technician. SARCOA is the Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging in Dothan, Alabama, that serves senior citizens, disabled individuals, and caregivers in the surrounding seven counties. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Technician to assist our employees in day-to-day operations.
This office-based role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment. This role will contribute to the smooth functioning of our organization’s IT infrastructure by managing agency computer systems, servers, local area networks, and computer security.

 

Job duties IT Tech is responsible for:

  • Plan, install, configure, and maintain IT telecommunications systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of faulty equipment as needed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of IT systems.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to implement solutions and enhancements.
  • Document processes, procedures, and configurations for reference and training purposes.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in IT telecommunications.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users as required.
  • Maintain inventory of tech devices for all staff.

 

Qualifications:

  • Relevant IT experience is required.
  • A bachelor’s or associate degree in IT or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA) preferred.
  • Proven experience planning, installing, and maintaining IT telecommunications systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Requirements:

  • Two years of IT or relevant experience.
  • Willingness to participate in the training/certification process.

 

Details:

  • Part-time, 20-25 hours per week.
  • $20.33/hour.
  • State retirement program.
  • Ability to receive bonus incentives.
